Emperor Fish Tacos
Fish tacos are a delicious and vibrant dish that combines perfectly seasoned, flaky fish with fresh and colorful garnishes. Easy to prepare and full of flavor, they make a satisfying and refreshing meal perfect for any occasion.
Ingredients:
Fish
- 1 Emperor fillet (skinless) 500-800g
-1 tablespoon chilli powder
-1 teaspoon paprika
- 1 teaspoon dried oregano
- ½ teaspoon cajun
- ½ teaspoon garlic powder
- ½ teaspoon onion powder
- ½ teaspoon pepper
- olive oil
Taco assembly & garnish
- 8 corn or flour tortillas
- 1 avocado diced
- 1 lime wedged
- 1 mango diced
- coriander roughly chopped
- chimichurri
Sauce
- 3 tablespoons sour cream
- 2 tablespoons mayonnaise
- ½ lime juiced
- ½ teaspoon garlic powder
- ½ teaspoon cumin
- ½ teaspoon sriracha or to taste
Method:
1. Defrost fish fillet and dab dry
2. Preheat the oven to 200°C grill
3. In a small bowl, combine all fish taco sauce ingredients and refrigerate until serving.
4. In a small bowl, mix together the seasoning ingredients. Drizzle olive oil on the rub the seasoning mixture into the fish
5. Bake on a lined baking tray for 6 minutes or until flaky and cooked (don't ovrcook as it will dry it out)
6. Heat tortillas on a hot pan
7. Use a fork to break the fish into large chunks and divide it among the tortillas. Top with desired toppings and serve.
